Liverpool’s Empire Theatre is reminding those aged between 11 and 21 that auditions for next year’s Stage Experience project is March 2010.
A total of 130 young budding entertainers are being given the opportunity to be involved in a full scale production of the 1980s musical Fame.
Those successful will have just two weeks to put the show together before staging it during the summer next year.
As well as the performers, there are also a small number of technical placements available, for those more interested in behind the scenes work.
The young people will be supported throughout the project by a professional director, choreographer, musical director and technical team. The project fee is £150, which includes two weeks’ professional tuition.
Auditions will take place on Saturday 20 March 2010. Those who wish to audition need to first complete an application form, available to download by clicking on the following link here
Previous Stage Experience projects have included productions of Summer Holiday, The Wiz and Bugsy Malone.
Meanwhile, a mini version of the above, centred around The Jungle Book and aimed at 5-10 year olds will take place during February half term, culminating in a performance in the theatre’s Atrium for friends and family. Cost for a week’s tuition is £70 with no audition, instead places are allocated on a first come basis.
The Stage Experience Fame project runs from Monday 26 July until Saturday 7 August 2010. Performances will take place on 5, 6 and 7 August next year.
Application forms must be returned to the Liverpool Empire no later than Monday 8 March 2010. For more information e-mail the Education & Community Department at Education.Lempire@livenation.co.uk or call 0151 708 3202
