Cast joining Mark Rylance and Andre Holland in Othello announced

The production will run at Shakespeare’s Globe from 20 July

The full cast joining the already announced Mark Rylance and André Holland in Claire van Kampen's production of Othello at Shakespeare's Globe has been announced.

Sheila Atim, star of Girl From the North Country returns to the Globe to be in the show as Emilia, Catherine Bailey (Julius Caesar, Dr Scroggy's War) will play Bianca and Doge of Venice, William Chubb (This House, Racing Demon) will play Brabantio, Stefan Donnelly (Titus Andronicus) will play Roderigo, Micah Loubon, Clemmie Sveaas and Ira Mandela Siobhan will join as Chorus, Aaron Pierre (Britannia) will play Cassio, Badria Timimi (Unforgotten Father Brown) will play Lodovica and Jessica Warbeck (Much Ado About Nothing, One Man, Two Guvnors) will play Desdemona.

Van Kampen directs the show, which will star Rylance in the role of Iago alongside Holland as Othello. Designs are from Jonathan Fensom and the music will also be composed by van Kampen.

It falls as part of Michelle Terry's first season at Shakespeare's Globe, which has so far seen rep ensemble productions of Hamlet (starring Terry as Hamlet) and As You Like It. Last week, Shakespeare's final play, written with John Fletcher, The Two Noble Kinsmen opened in the main house.
