Charlie Stemp and John Partridge will star in a new touring revival of Tom Stoppard's Rough Crossing.

Stoppard's comedy, which has music by André Previn, follows two desperate playwrights who are stuck on an ocean liner crossing the Atlantic for New York.

Stemp will reunite with Half a Sixpence director Rachel Kavanaugh for the new revival of the hit 1984 comedy, which opens in January. He is currently appearing in Snow White at The London Palladium and will be appearing as Bert in Mary Poppins when it returns to the West End in autumn 2019.

Partridge is known for his role as Christian Clarke in EastEnders, and has performed in major musicals including A Chorus Line and Chicago. Casting is completed by Issy van Randwyck (Fascinating Aïda), Matthew Cottle (The Windsors), Rob Ostlere (Holby City) and Simon Dutton (The Saint).

The piece will have set and costume by Colin Richmond, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson.

Following its opening in Windsor on 29 January 2019, Rough Crossing will tour to Chichester, Manchester, Bath, Malvern, Guildford, Plymouth, Norwich, Leeds and Cambridge.
