The latest edition of our sister print title What’s On Stage Magazine is out today (Friday 4 July 2008), available in 35 participating London theatres as well as selected hotels, restaurants and tourist bureaux.

Amongst the great features on offer in the July/August 2008 double issue are:

  • PARTNERS IN TIME – As Doctor Who’s David Tennant and Catherine Tate both return to the stage, Roger Foss time-travels in their theatrical Tardis.

  • BEHIND THE FRINGEJames Seabright gives a producer’s-eye-view of the Edinburgh Fringe frenzy.

  • JUNIOR SHOWTIME – Here’s where to find child-friendly shows and venues this summer.

  • WEST IS BEST – Is West Side Story the greatest stage musical ever? Michael Coveney revisits a 1950s classic to find out how the Sharks and the Jets changed the face of musical theatre.

We’ve also got all of your favourite regular magazine sections, including Headliners (news, previews and Talking Heads snippet interviews), Up for Grabs competitions, Limelight pictures, this month’s What’s On Guide diary and listings, Brief Encounter (with Argentine firecracker Elena Roger, returning to the London stage post-Evita to play Edith Piaf at the Donmar Warehouse), Recommended (theatregoer raves about recent openings) and, last but not least, Critical Comment, in which our columnist, Guardian critic Michael Billington, commemorates the 40th anniversary of the end of theatre censorship.
