The adaptation of their wartime comedy opens at The Watermill Theatre, Newbury
Ahead of the production's opening at The Watermill Theatre, we spoke to writers Ian Hislop and Nick Newman at the Private Eye offices about their stage adaptation of The Wipers Times.
The play is about a satirical newspaper which was started in the trenches during the First World War, and served as the inspiration for modern publications such as The Onion and Private Eye – the latter of which Hislop is the editor.
The Wipers Times runs at The Watermill Theatre, Newbury from 20 September to 29 October.
