Titanic stage musical to be broadcast on Sky Arts

There’s a few upcoming musical broadcasts to get in your calendars.

The recent tenth anniversary touring production of Maury Yeston and Peter Stone’s Titanic – The Musical, captured at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking, will be shown on Sky Arts on Monday 26 August at 7pm.

Produced by Danielle Tarento in association with Mayflower Theatre, Southampton and Harmonia, the piece explores the lives and aspirations of the passengers and crew onboard, when the Titanic infamously sank on 15 April 1912 and over 1,500 lives were lost. The original Broadway production took home five Tony Awards including Best Musical.

What’s more, the hit 2021 film In the Heights (based on the award-winning Broadway musical) has been added to BBC iPlayer, following a broadcast last weekend.

Other offerings on Sky Arts include the film version of Oklahoma! (3pm on Saturday 24 August), the filmed Cirque Du Soleil show Kooza (1pm on Saturday 24 August) and the film version of South Pacific (2pm on Sunday 25 August).
