Buena Vista Social Club confirms London transfer

Buena Vista Social Club is coming to London.

With a book by Marco Ramirez and direction by Saheem Ali, Buena Vista Social Club uses the music of the 1997 Grammy Award-winning album to tell a story set against the political turmoil of Cuba in the 20th century.

The five-time Tony Award-winning musical features the first score in history to be performed solely in Spanish on Broadway and earned the special Tony Award for the band as well as a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album.

It opened on Broadway in 2025 and this weekend will play simultaneously at the Schoenfeld Theater, the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas, the Antonio Paoli Festival Hall at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Puerto Rico, and the Teatro de los Insurgentes in Mexico City.

The show will take its final Broadway bow on 17 January 2027 and has confirmed a London production will follow in the same year.
