Lead casting has been confirmed for the new UK and Ireland tour of Craig Warner’s stage adaptation of Strangers on a Train, which will kick off early next year.

Based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel, which was also adapted into Alfred Hitchcock’s 1951 film, the production will be directed by Roxana Silbert.

The tour will open at Theatre Royal Windsor on 15 January 2027, with full dates below. Further stops are planned for September to November 2027.

Strangers on a Train follows two strangers who meet during a train journey, sparking an obsession with the perfect crime. The production is dedicated to the memory of Warner, who died earlier this year.

Lewis Cope will take on the role of Charles Bruno, opposite Jonny Labey as Guy Haines.

Strangers on a Train is directed by Silbert, with set and costume design by Robert Innes Hopkins, lighting design by Matt Haskins and sound design by Elizabeth Purnell.

Silbert is a former artistic director of Paines Plough, Birmingham Rep and Hampstead Theatre, and was an associate director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
