New writing fringe venue Theatre503 have today announced a new executive director. Andrew Shepherd will take up the role on 25 January following the departure of Jeremy Woodhouse, who was the theatre's first executive director.

Shepherd trained at LAMDA, and founded ACS Random in 2002, a company dedicated to new writing and making classic works for a modern audience. As well as being a playwright, he co-wrote the award-winning short film Little Claus & Big Claus.

Shepherd will support artistic director Paul Robinson as head of the theatre, who said of the appointment: "I'm delighted that Andrew is joining us as executive director. His extensive experience in producing, development, law and finance position him perfectly to be a huge success in the role. I'm certain he will be a perfect fit with us here and I look forward to welcoming him as part of our team."

The Battersea-based Theatre503 has built up a reputation for producing strong new writing. They appointed Woodhouse, in 2012, after co-artistic director Tim Roseman stepped down from running the theatre, leaving Robinson as sole artistic director.
