Ibsen’s play is adapted and directed by Robert Icke
Full casting has been announced for Robert Icke's adaptation of Ibsen's The Wild Duck, which opens at the Almeida next month.
The cast will feature Nicholas Day, Grace Doherty, Nicholas Farrell, Andrea Hall, Kevin Harvey, Edward Hogg, Lyndsey Marshal, Clara Read and Rick Warden.
Ibsen's play about the nature of truth will be recreated by Icke, who also directs, with design by Bunny Christie, lighting by Elliot Griggs, sound by Tom Gibbons and casting by Julia Horan.
Coinciding with the production will be a new "Almeida for Free" one-day festival on 27 October, which will feature a free matinee performance of The Wild Duck, a Q&A with Icke and workshops with theatre practitioners.
Icke is associate director at the Almeida where his work includes adapting and directing Mary Stuart, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia and 1984. His production of Hamlet starring Andrew Scott transferred to the West End last year and was also broadcast on BBC2.
