The producers of Billy Elliot on Broadway have been hit with a $4 million lawsuit by two audience members who were injured while watching the show. The two women from Missouri were hit by a prop – reportedly a plastic crate – while watching the show from the front row in November 2009. They were immediately rushed to hospital where one of the women, Elaine Rosen, subsequently had stitches and now claims to have been scarred for life. The women are suing for $2 million each on the grounds that the hit screen-to-stage show contained “hazardous and dangerous choreography”.
