Producers of Stiles and Drewe’s new musical Soho Cinders have issued a statement announcing their intention to find another venue after the show finishes its run at Soho Theatre on Sunday (9 September 2012).
Directed by Jonathan Butterell, Soho Cinders offers an “edgy,
fun and deliciously naughty” take on the Cinderella fairy tale,
featuring lap-dancers, politicians and sex scandals.
Thomas Milner, best known for playing Paul Langley in BBC drama Waterloo Road,
stars as Robbie, an impoverished student who becomes romantically
involved with engaged mayoral candidate James Prince, played by Michael
Xavier.
The show also features Olivier-award winning actress Jenna
Russell and the voice of actor, writer and comedian Stephen Fry.
Stiles, Drewe and book-writer Elliot Davis said: “We’re delighted that the world premiere of Soho Cinders at The Soho Theatre has seen audiences take the show to their heart. Jonathan Butterell’s production has both raised the roof with laughter as well as sending sell-out crowds home genuinely moved. We look forward to Soho Cinders continuing its journey and finding an even wider audience.”
Soho Cinders is produced Jamie Hendry Productions, Daniel Sparrow & Mike Walsh Productions, Soho Cinders Limited, Neil Marcus and Paul Tyrer & Jamie Clark for the Booking Office in association with Soho Theatre.
