Roger Lloyd Pack joins Rylance in Globe Richard III and Twelfth Night

The Globe today announced full casting for Richard III
and Twelfth Night, the final productions in the
theatre’s 2012 season, The Play’s The Thing.

As previously announced, Mark Rylance, the Globe’s founding
artistic director, will play the title role in Richard
III
and Olivia in Twelfth Night. Roger
Lloyd Pack
, best known for his roles in television sitcoms Only
Fools and Horses
and The Vicar of Dibley, will be making his Globe debut as the Duke of Buckingham in Richard
III
and Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night.

Paul Chahidi, who appeared in Nation at the
National Theatre and in multiple productions with the RSC, will play
Hastings and Tyrrell in Richard III and Maria in
Twelfth Night. James Garnon will take on the
roles of Richmond and the Duchess of York in Richard
III
, and Fabian in Twelfth Night, having
recently finished playing King James in the Globe’s touring
production of Anne Boleyn.

They join Stephen Fry, Johnny Flynn, Samuel Barnett, Colin
Hurley
, Liam Brennan and Peter Hamilton Dyer, John Paul
Connolly
, Ian Drysdale, Jethro Skinner and Ben Thompson, whose
casting was announced in February. The young princes in Richard
III
will be played by Lorenzo Allchurch, Shanu Hazzan,
Austin Moulton, and Dylan Standen.

Tim Carroll directs both plays, which will feature designs by
Jenny Tiramani and music by Claire van Kampen. This is the
creative team behind the original 2002 all-male version of Twelfth
Night
at the Globe.

The two plays will run in repertoire at the Globe from 14 July until
14 October before transferring to the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury
Avenue on 2 November. They will run there in repertoire until 3
February.
