Peter Gill‘s first two plays, The Sleepers’ Den and Over Gardens Out, will be performed in repertory at Riverside Studios from 28 September to 6 November 2010.
The two productions will be directed by Cock Tavern and King’s Head artistic director Adam Spreadbury-Maher, who helmed a revival of Gill’s The York Realist at Riverside last year.
Peter Gill founded Riverside Studios, as well as the Royal National Theatre Studio. His many plays and adaptations have been performed at venues including The Royal Court, the National Theatre, Sheffield Crucible and Theatre Royal Bath. He will make his Bush Theatre debut next month with the UK premiere of American playwright Annie Baker’s The Aliens.
The Sleepers Den and Over Gardens Out were Gill’s first two plays, and were performed in 1965 and 1969 respectively at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs. They’ll be presented at Riverside Studios by Good Night Out Presents.
