Promises, Promises to return to London after 20 years

1969 musical Promises, Promises is set to open at the Southwark Playhouse, returning to London for the first time in almost 20 years.

The production is based on the 1960 Oscar-winning film The Apartment, directed by Billy Wilder, and will run from January 2017.

The story follows a junior executive looking to climb the corporate ladder by lending his apartment to his bosses to use for extra marital affairs.

The show features music by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David and a book by Neil Simon.

Bacharach songs which feature in the musical include "I’ll Never Fall in Love Again", "Knowing When To Leave" and "I Say a Little Prayer".

Promises, Promises will open at the Southwark Playhouse in January 2017.
