If $65 million-dollar Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark makes it to the UK (and it seems to be a big ‘if’), producers already have an actor in mind to play the web-weaving superhero. According to the Daily Mail‘s Baz Bamigboye, relatively unknown Brit Matthew James Thomas, who is currently the alternate lead, will reprise the role in the West End production, should it ever come about. However, the show, which features music by U2’s Bono and The Edge and is directed by Julie Taymor (The Lion King), currently has much bigger things to worry about following the decidedly lukewarm reaction to early previews (it officially opens in January).
