Exclusive: Tony, Grammy, Emmy and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Tom Kitt is making his UK concert debut this summer.
Kitt will be performing a solo concert at London’s Crazy Coqs on the 6 and 7 August, where the American composer will be sharing stories and performing songs from his hit musicals, including Next to Normal, If/Then, Almost Famous, and from his debut album, Reflect. Tickets start at £35 and are on sale now.
Kitt, who has composed for some of the most popular musicals of the last two decades, said today: “It has been a dream of mine to perform in London as well as see my work realized on the London stage, and now with these shows and the upcoming Next to Normal production at the Donmar Warehouse, those dreams are coming true.”
Kitt’s impressive list of credits includes the score for Almost Famous (currently nominated for a Tony Award for Best Score, alongside co-writer Cameron Crowe), Next to Normal (2010 Pulitzer Prize; two Tony Awards), If/Then (Tony nomination), Flying Over Sunset (Tony nomination), The Visitor, High Fidelity, Bring It On: The Musical (with co-composer Lin-Manuel Miranda), Superhero, Disney’s Freaky Friday, among others.
As a music supervisor, arranger, and orchestrator, Kitt has worked on projects such as Jagged Little Pill (Grammy Award, Tony nomination), The SpongeBob Musical (Tony nomination), American Idiot, Head Over Heels, Grease Live!, Rise (NBC), and the Pitch Perfect franchise.
Kitt’s debut album, Reflect, was released in 2021 via Sony Music Masterworks. His performance, Tom Kitt: Reflections, A Solo Concert, will take place on 6 August (5pm and 8pm show, with the 8pm followed by a Q&A hosted by Edward Seckersen) and 7 August (7pm and 9:15pm show) at Crazy Coqs.
