Megan Hilty and Rachel Tucker to star in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes West End concert

Megan Hilty and Rachel Tucker will star in a new concert production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at the London Palladium in March 2027.

Hilty will play Lorelei Lee and Tucker Dorothy Shaw in the production, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle. The concert will run for three performances on 26 and 27 March, with an orchestra of 30 musicians.

The musical features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Leo Robin, and a book by Anita Loos and Joseph Fields. Set aboard an ocean liner travelling to Paris, it follows Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw. The score includes “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”, “A Little Girl from Little Rock” and “Bye Bye Baby”.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes opened on Broadway in 1949, with Carol Channing originating the role of Lorelei. It was adapted into the 1953 film starring Marilyn Monroe as Lorelei and Jane Russell as Dorothy.

Hilty previously played Lorelei in the New York City Center production presented as part of Encores!. Her stage credits include Death Becomes Her, Wicked, 9 to 5: The Musical and Smash, in which she played Ivy Lynn, an actor portraying Marilyn Monroe in the fictional Broadway musical Bombshell. Tucker’s credits include Wicked, Come From Away, Sunset Boulevard and the ongoing world premiere of Thelma and Louise.

The creative team also includes musical director Alan Williams, set and costume designer Rebecca Brower, lighting designer Zoe Spurr, associate choreographer Joanna Goodwin and associate director Mark Hedges. Ensemble casting is by Pearsons Casting, with general management by QUBE Theatricals. Further casting is to be announced.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in Concert will play at The London Palladium on 26 March 2027 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, and on 27 March at 7.30pm. Tickets go on sale on 18 September 2026.
