Meanwhile, the mystery around Ghost The Musical is no longer where, when or, with last week’s casting announcement, even who, but rather how – will it sound, that is. And a handful of industry insiders and journalists – including Whatsonstage.com – will get a chance to hear from themselves at a special preview showcase held this Thursday afternoon. The event will be attended by Eurthymics’ frontman Dave Stewart and Grammy winner Glenn Ballard, who are co-writing the music and lyrics, as well as the Oscar-winning author of the original screenplay Bruce Joel Rubin, who’s writing the book. The show’s stars – Richard Fleeshman, Caissie Levy and Sharon D Clark – will also be on hand and performing selected songs. We could tell you where and when the showcase is happening, but then we’d have to shoot you – producers are keeping it hush-hush for crowd control reasons. Trust us, though, it’s suitably rock ‘n’ roll. Following a seven-week tryout in Manchester, Ghost The Musical opens at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre on 19 July 2011 (previews from 22 June). The premiere production is directed by Matthew Warchus and designed by his frequent collaborator Rob Howell.
