Dracula is to receive a new audio adaptation from Audible this autumn, led by an English-language cast including Jonathan Bailey, Ella Purnell, Aimee Lou Wood and Lesley Manville.

The new Audible Original, based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, will be released on 1 October 2026 as an immersive full cast audio drama. It will launch simultaneously in English, French, Italian, Castilian Spanish and Latin American Spanish, with a German-language version following on 9 February 2027. A Brazilian Portuguese adaptation is also planned for 2027.

WhatsOnStage Award winner Bailey will play Dracula, with Purnell as Mina Murray, WhatsOnStage Award winner Wood as Lucy Westenra, Louis Partridge as Jonathan Harker, David Jonsson as Dr Seward, Manville as Mrs Westenra, Johnny Flynn as Renfield, Francis Lovehall as Arthur Holmwood and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Professor Van Helsing.

The adaptation follows Mina Murray as she investigates the disappearance of her fiancé in Transylvania, piecing together letters, diary entries and witness accounts while confronting the mysterious Count Dracula.

The production is directed by Mary Lambert, making her audiobook directing debut, from an adaptation by Robyn Ahern. It features an original score by Ilan Eshkeri alongside an immersive sound design.

International versions will feature local casts led by Omar Sy and Deva Cassel (French), Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli (Italian), Matthias Schweighöfer and Jeanne Goursaud (German), Asier Etxeandia and Claudia Salas (Castilian Spanish), and José María de Tavira and Esmeralda Pimentel (Latin American Spanish).

Dracula will be available on Audible from 1 October 2026.
