Olivier Award-winner Giles Terera has withdrawn from Rachel Chavkin's upcoming revival of The American Clock at the Old Vic.

Terera, who recently starred as Aaron Burr in the West End premiere of Hamilton, has had to pull out of the production "due to personal reasons", ahead of the piece's first preview on 4 February according to the venue.

Replacing Terera in the piece will be Clarke Peters (The Wire), who will play the roles of Robertson, Moe 3 and Taylor until 2 March. Sule Rimi, currently appearing in Sweat at Donmar Warehouse, will take over the roles from 4 March and will stay with the show until its conclusion on 30 March.

Chavkin's revival of Arthur Miller's play marks the first of two Miller productions in the Old Vic's 2019 season, with Headlong co-producing All My Sons, which runs after The American Clock from April 2019.
