The West End run of the hit show Funny Girl has extended.

Olivier-winning Sheridan Smith stars as Fanny Brice in the musical, which opened at the Menier Chocolate Factory in December. The show transfers to the Savoy in April and the run has been extended four weeks until October 8.

Tickets for the extended run are now on sale.

The show has had made records for the Savoy Theatre with advance sales being the biggest in the venue's history.

Funny Girl tells the tale of Brice who rose from being a Brooklyn music hall singer to become one of Broadway's biggest stars under producer Florenz Ziegfeld.

Smith received excellent reviews for the original run at the Menier, which sold out.
