Exclusive: first listen to new musical adaptation of The Railway Children

Alex Parker and Katie Lam’s new musical plays Cadogan Hall on 21 January

Footage has been released of Emma Harrold and Rob Houchen performing "To The Railway" from a new musical adaptation of The Railway Children.

The new take on E Nesbit's classic novel, premiered at the Guildford Summer Chamber Music Festival last year and now returns to play Cadogan Hall on 21 January.

With music by Alex Parker and a book and lyrics by Katie Lam, the cast features Harrold as Phyllis, Houchen as Peter, Rebecca Trehearn as Bobbie and Carrie Hope Fletcher as the Narrator.

They are joined by Deborah Crowe, David Birrell, Paul Baker, Maggie Service, James Bolam, Jonathan Dudley and Jack McCann. The concert is conducted by Parker and directed by Jordan Murphy.

The Railway Children takes place on Sunday 21 January 2018.
