Kingston will star in the European premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ”21 Chump Street”
Further casting has been announced for this year's From Page to Stage festival, including the European premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda's 21 Chump Street.
Directed by Amy Anders Corcoran with musical direction by Luke Di Somma, 21 Chump Street is Miranda's 14 minute musical based on an episode of This American Life, where a high school student fell in love with an undercover police officer. The cast includes Emma Kingston (In the Heights, Les Miserables) as Naomi, Danny Black as the Narrator, Jordan Castle as Tevin, Jason Kajdi as Derek, Alessandro Lubrano as Justin and Olly McCauley as Andrew.
Evita star Madalena Alberto will lead the cast of Pollyanna by Steven Gallagher and Linda Barnett. Directed by Robert McQueen with musical direction by Tamara Saringer (Vanities), Pollyanna is about an eleven year-old orphan who transforms a whole town with her 'glad game'. The cast also includes Mark Anderson (The Toxic Avenger) as Frank Smith, Eva Crawford as Nancy, Martin Dickinson as John Pendleton, Caitlin Emilie Garcia as Pollyanna, Jackie Marks (Les Miserables) as Mrs Snow and Nigel Richards (The Phantom of the Opera) as William.
The Toyboy Diaries, based on Wendy Salisbury’s book of the same is directed by Bronagh Lagan with musical direction by Tamara Saringer, and features Mark Anderson, Suanne Braun, Martin Dickinson, Jackie Marks and Nigel Richards.
Wicked actress Sarah Earnshaw will play Kate in Tim Connor's Heart of Winter, again with direction from Lagan and musical direction from Ben Ferguson.
As previously announced, Cassie Compton, Gerard McCarthy and Jodie Jacobs are also among the casting in three other productions during the festival.
From Page to Stage runs at the Tristan Bates Theatre from 31 October to 20 November 2016.
