Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood has reportedly been signed up to direct the film version of Jersey Boys.

The musical, which originally opened on Broadway in 2006, follows four boys on their journey from the wrong side of
the tracks in the state of New Jersey to international success as pop
music sensation The Four Seasons.

Eastwood, who has won three Academy Awards (for Unforgiven, Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby), will begin shooting the film later this year, according to an Equity casting notice.

Auditions are currently underway to find actors to portray Frankie Valli and the rest of the Four Seasons gang on the big screen. The film has a script by award-winning playwright John Logan (Red, Peter and Alice).

The Whatsonstage.com Award-winning show, which recently celebrated its fifth birthday in the West End, continues to be led by Ryan
Molloy
as Frankie, alongside Matthew Wycliffe as Bob Gaudio, Jon Boydon
as Tommy DeVito and Eugene McCoy as Nick Massi, with Jon Lee
playing the role of Frankie Valli at certain performances.
