Meanwhile in Manchester, Tonight's the Night, the musical comedy inspired by the songs of Rod Stewart will be launching its UK tour from 20 January 2014.

Starring ex-Sugababe Jade Ewen as Dee Dee, whose stage credits include The Lion King and Whistle Down the Wind, the show tells the story of Stu, a shy young man, so tongue tied that he cannot find the courage to declare his love to the girl of his dreams. One night he strikes a deal with the Devil, trading his soul for his hero Rod Stewart's.

Ewen is joined in the cast by Michael McKell (Doctors), Ben Heathcote (Mamma Mia), Jenna Lee-James (We Will Rock You), Tiffany Graves (Sweet Charity), Andy Rees (Legally Blonde) and Craig Mather (Les Miserables).

The rest of the company comprises Michelle Antrobus, Joshua Dever, Amy Diamond, Rosie Fletcher, Rosie Heath, Sinead Long, Tom Millen, Darryl Paul, Ricky Rojas, Spin and Lindsey Tierney.

Rod Stewart said: “In the past, any ideas for musicals revolving around my songs just didn’t work for me. It was only when we were approached to do Tonight's the Night that the idea really took off. I’m absolutely thrilled that this great show is touring the UK again.”

Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, Tonight's the Night features over 20 classic Rod Stewart hits including "Tonight’s the Night", "Hot Legs", "Do Ya Think I’m Sexy", "Maggie May", and "I Don’t Wanna Talk About It".

Tonight's the Night will play at the Manchester Palace Theatre from 20-25 January 2014, before touring to places including Liverpool, Torquay, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Brighton, London, York, Sheffield, Bristol and Canterbury.
