A new album for the revival of David Hare’s Teeth ‘n’ Smiles has been released.

Rebecca Lucy Taylor, also known as Self Esteem, stars in the play, which celebrates its 50th anniversary and is directed by Daniel Raggett. It follows Maggie Frisby, once the roaring voice of 60s counterculture, and now broke and disillusioned with her band on the brink of breakup.

Teeth ‘N’ Smiles has music by Nick Bicât and lyrics by Tony Bicât, and features new additional music and lyrics by Taylor. It marks Taylor’s West End play debut.

Joining Taylor (AKA Self Esteem) as Maggie, are Michael Fox as Arthur, Phil Daniels as Sarrafian, Bill Caple as Nash, Michael Abubakar as Wilson, Samuel Jordan as Smegs, Jojo Macari as Peyote, Noah Weatherby as Inch, Joseph Evans as Randolph, Aysha Kala as Laura, Christopher Patrick Nolan as Snead and Roman Asde as Anson. Gregor Milne, Damien James, Levi Heaton, Guy Amos and Daniel Crespin complete the company.

Set design is by Chloe Lamford, costume design by Alex Mullins, lighting design by Matt Daw, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham and music supervision by Liam Godwin. The casting director is Bryony Jarvis-Taylor and associate director is George Jibson.

Presented by Wessex Grove and Gavin Kalin Productions, Teeth ‘n’ Smiles’ tickets are on sale now.

The album is available to stream now – the artist is listed as “Maggie Frisby and The Skins” if you’re searching.
