A new musical about the Brontës will transfer to Southwark Playhouse in September, following its initial work-in-progress performances at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2016.

With music by Christopher Ash (Showstoppers) and a book and lyrics by Carl Miller (Emil and the Detectives), Wasted marks the bicentenary celebrations of Emily Brontë (Charlotte was celebrated in 2016, Branwell was in 2017 and Anne will be in 2020).

Directed by Adam Lenson, the show – which runs from 6 September to 6 October – takes the form of a rock documentary and gives an access-all-areas account of the struggles, heartbreaks and triumphs of the three Brontë sisters and their brother.

Casting and further creatives are to be announced.
