A raft of stage and musical stars are set to feature in the upcoming newest series of Who Do You Think You Are? on the BBC.
Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (Cats, The Phantom of the Opera) is due to take part in the show, which has now reached its 20th season. Lloyd Webber, who recently announced his musical Bad Cinderella is set to close on Broadway, is said to “unearth uncanny parallels between his life and the lives of his ancestors”.
Also due to take part are award-winning stars Claire Foy (Lungs) and Lesley Manville (The Crown), with the duo “diving head-first into their family histories only to stumble upon stories worthy of any TV drama”.
Also featuring are Kevin Clifton ( star of Strictly Ballroom), Emily Atack, Bear Grylls, Chris Ramsey, Dev Griffin, and Chris and Xand van Tulleken.
Simon Young, the BBC head of history, said: “As one of Britain’s most beloved documentary series returns for series 20, the line-up of household names, and the array of astonishing family histories, grow from strength to strength. This series is often imitated but never bettered, and this latest edition demonstrates why.”
Specific broadcast dates are to be confirmed.
