Sunset Boulevard and Miss Saigon star Siobhan Dillon will play the titular role on the forthcoming album recording of new British musical Tess.

She will perform alongside Tam Mutu (City of Angels, Les Miserables) as Alex d'Urberville and Simon Bailey (Jersey Boys, I Can't Sing) as Angel Clare.

Based on Thomas Hardy's 1891 novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles, the musical is written by Michael Blore and WhatsOnStage reviewer Michael Davies. The album is scheduled to be recorded later this year, with a fully staged production expected to follow.

Other members cast include Jacqueline Tate (Avenue Q), James Dinsmore (An Ideal Husband) and Nathan Dowling (Jerry Springer the Opera).
