The casts have been announced for Twelfth Night and Touching the Void, the pieces that form the two-production partnership between Bristol Old Vic and the Lyceum in Edinburgh.

Touching the Void, which is based on Joe Simpson's memoir, tells the true story of a near-death experience for two climbers on the Siula Grande Mountain.

Cast in the production are Josh Williams (One Night in Miami) and Edward Hayter (making his professional stage debut) as climbers Simpson and Simon Yates. They are joined by Fiona Hampton (Much Ado About Nothing) and Patrick McNamee (Our Girl).

The production is the first in Bristol Old Vic's 2018/19 season, which comes following the completion of its 10-year redevelopment project. It is directed by the venue's artistic director Tom Morris.

Twelfth Night, directed by the Lyceum's associate artist Wils Wilson, will open at the Lyceum in September before transferring to Bristol. Cast in the show are Christopher Green (Office Party), Jade Ogugua (How To Act), Colette Dalal Tchantcho (Eddie and the Slumber Sisters), Dawn Slevewright (Pinocchio), Guy Hughes (The Little Matchgirl), Sophia Kolinas (Cockpit), Brian James O'Sullivan (The Arabian Nights) and Dylan Read (Cockpit).

Alasdair Macrae will act as musical director for the show, which also features composition by Meilyr Jones.
