The Royal Shakespeare Company has released a first look at the upcoming production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.

The show is designed by Lez Brotherston, directed by Fiona Laird with lighting from Tim Mitchell. The show is a garish revamp on what you might expect from Shakespeare's comedy, which follows Sir John Falstaff as he tries to seduce the wives of two wealthy men.

The cast includes David Troughton as Falstaff, Luke Newberry as Fenton, Ishia Bennison as Mistress Quickly, Beth Cordingly as MIstress Ford, Rebecca Lacey as Mistress Page, Katy Britain as The Hostess of the Garter and Charlotte Josephine as Bardolph.

The show runs in Stratford-upon-Avon until transferring to the Barbican from 7 December to 5 Jan and will be broadcast in cinemas live on 12 September.
