The Ladykillers embarks on UK tour from Plymouth, 14 Sep

Graham Linehan‘s stage adaptation of The Ladykillers will embark on a 26-week national tour, starting at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on 14 September 2012, the show’s producers have announced.

The current London cast of Peter Capaldi, James Fleet, Ben Miller, Marcia Warren, Stephen Wight and Clive Rowe will play the final performance of their extended West End run at the Gielgud Theatre on 14 April 2012.

Following Plymouth The Ladykillers will travel to Canterbury, Sheffield, Birmingham, Southampton, Cambridge, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Malvern and Bath in 2012, with further dates for 2013 to be announced.

Casting for the national tour is still to be announced.

It was announced last week that The Ladykillers is nominated for five Olivier Awards including Best New Play, Best Direction, Best Set Design, Best Sound Design and Best Actress in a Play for Marcia Warren.

Directed by Sean Foley, The Ladykillers, was adapted from the 1955 Ealing comedy by Graham Linehan. His television credits include Father Ted, The IT Crowd, Brass Eye, Blue Jam and Jam as well as co-writing the first season of Black Books with Dylan Moran.

The Ladykillers opened at the West End’s Gielgud Theatre on 7 December 2011 (previews from 26 November 2011) following a try-out run at Liverpool Playhouse.

The Ladykillers is produced on tour by Edward Snape for Fiery Angel in association with Stage Entertainment UK, Olympus Theatricals, Jason Heigh-Ellery and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse present
