The musical, adapted from Sue Townsend’s novel, is currently running at the Menier Chocolate Factory
Yesterday afternoon the cast of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ celebrated their opening performance at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
The new musical, the brainchild of Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary, is based on the first in the nine-part series from Sue Townsend. The show sees a young Adrian, self-styled child intellectual, struggling with school bullies, spots and puberty, while harbouring a crush for fellow classmate Pandora.
The show was given a stellar five star review by WhatsOnStage's James FitzGerald, who describes the show as 'a blast: an entertainment-focused spectacle with smart jokes and even better songs.'
The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 9 September.
