As the opening of Disney's Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre gets ever closer the cast and crew are going through the final steps of preparation.

One of those preparations is the sitzprobe – a German term used in opera and musical theatre to describe a rehearsal where the singers sing with the orchestra for the first time – watch the video above for a sneak peek.

Based on the classic animated film, Aladdin features several of the original songs including "Prince Ali", "Friend Like Me" and Rice's and Menken's hit song "A Whole New World" which won the Academy Award for best original song.

Aladdin opens at the Prince Edward Theatre on 15 June with previews from 27 May. It is currently booking until 1 October 2016.
