The legendary musical composer Alan Menken has said he expects Sister Act to head back into the West End.

Talking at an event to promote the new film version of Beauty and the Beast Menken said that Sister Act is soon to appear in London.

When asked whether he could pick his favourites from the songs he has written, he said: "I can't choose one. I am excited that Hunchback of Notre Dame is opening in Berlin. And I'm excited about my new show on Broadway, A Bronx Tale."

He added: "And then Sister Act is coming back to the West End soon. The nuns play their own instruments!"

Craig Revel Horwood's production is currently touring the UK, with Alexandra Burke in the lead role, until 3 September. Sister Act has lyrics by Glenn Slater, a book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner and additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane.
