Sing Street finds its full UK premiere cast

Exclusive: Sing Street: A New Musical has unveiled its complete cast.

The stage version of John Carney’s beloved coming-of-age film follows a 16-year-old Dubliner, Conor, trying to form a band in the 1980s. It was first seen in Boston and New York before the pandemic began – though it had its Broadway season halted by the lockdowns.

It has a book by Enda Walsh, with music and lyrics by Gary Clark and Carney and direction by Rebecca Taichman (who oversaw the New York and Boston versions). The new run at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre marks the show’s long-awaited UK premiere.

Taking on the central role of Conor will be Sheridan Townsley, while the previously revealed Adam Hunter will make his musical theatre debut in the role of brother Brendan. Grace Collender will play Raphina, the “model” that enchants the young Conor, while Conor’s younger sister Anne is played by Tateyana Arutura. You can see Hunter perform a new track by Clark, written for the UK premiere of Sing Street.

The full cast also includes Harry Curley as Kevin, Jenny Fitzpatrick as Sandra, Indiana Hawkes as Gary, Cameron Hogan as Darren, Lloyd Hutchinson as Brother Baxter, Jesse Nyakudya as Eamon, Lochlann Ó Mearáin as Robert, Matthew Philp as Declan, Seb Robinson as Larry, Jack James Ryan as Barry and Lucianne McEvoy as Penny.

The Sing Street creative team includes choreographer Sonya Tayeh, set designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Natasha Katz, music supervisor Peter Gordeno, video designer Luke Halls, costume designer Lisa Zinni, wigs, hair and make-up designer Helen Keane, musical director Nick J Barstow, casting director Stuart Burt, orchestrators and arrangers Gary Clark and Gordeno, with choreography re-staged by Mia DeWeese and Camden Gonzales, associate direction by Nicholai La Barrie and dialect and voice coaching by Hazel Holder.

The show will run at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre from 8 July to 23 August 2025, with a press night on 18 July.
