Sheridan Smith and cast celebrate Funny Girl opening night

Sheridan Smith and the cast of Funny Girl celebrated opening night at the Savoy Theatre last night with guests including Caitlin Moran, David Baddiel and Myleene Klass.

The production, which is directed by Michael Mayer, transferred to the Savoy from the Menier Chocolate Factory.

Funny Girl tells the tale of Brice who rose from being a Brooklyn music hall singer to become one of Broadway's biggest stars under producer Florenz Ziegfeld.

Smith received excellent reviews for the original run at the Menier, which sold out.
