The charity performance runs at the Novello Theatre in October
Olivier Award winner Rebecca Trehearn will star in the eighth annual West End Bares fundraiser on Sunday 29 October. The show, performed twice at 7.00pm and 9:30pm at the Novello Theatre, will see 100 performers from across the West End joined by a variety of celebrities from all walks of life.
Ruby Strippers has been announced as the show title for the event, promising to present the much-loved characters of Oz in ways they’ve never been seen before – infused with elements of burlesque and naughtiness. All monies raised will go to The Make A Difference Trust to fund HIV and AIDS projects that raise awareness, educate and provide care and support in the UK and sub-Saharan Africa.
Director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, creator of the original concept Broadway Bares said: "I can’t wait to see the eighth edition of West End Bares in London and what a perfect theme to go full out and celebrate life.
"We need to keep up the fight against HIV and AIDS and by doing what we love or by buying a ticket and supporting this incredible night, you can be part of something huge that will change people’s lives – and you get to watch the hottest dancers in London strip, so it’s a no brainer!"
The evening will be directed by David Grewcock, supported by choreographers from across the West End and beyond, including Racky Plews, Ashley Nottingham, Will Lucas, Joanna Goodwin, Aaron Renfree, Simone Mistry-Palmer, Jaye Elster, Ashley Jordan-Packer, Fletcher Dobinson, Chris Whittaker and James Wilson.
Trehearn will also perform a brand new track, written by Mark Anderson (The Book Of Mormon, Legally Blonde) and Luke di Somma (That Bloody Woman, 21 Chump Street).
West End Bares: Ruby Strippers will take place on Sunday 29 October at the Novello Theatre at both 7pm and 9:30pm.
