Four audience members were escorted from the Dominion Theatre following a disturbance on Saturday night, it has been confirmed.

During the interval of the WhatsOnStage Award-winning Grease, which runs until late October at the West End venue, police officers entered the auditorium in order to facilitate the removal of the individuals, who were said to be causing a disturbance. According to videos on social media, the audience around the venue cheered as the four left, following chants for them to depart.

A Metropolitan police statement said: “Shortly before 8.40pm on Saturday 26 August, police received reports of two men and two women causing a disturbance at a theatre in Tottenham Court Road, W1.

“Officers attended and the group were escorted from the premises. No arrests. No injuries reported.”

The production has been approached for comment.

The new musical revival continues at the Dominion Theatre, with a cast including Jason Donovan.
