Orlando Bloom in Killer Joe at Trafalgar Studios: first look

Photos have been released offering a first look at Orlando Bloom and the cast of the new revival of Killer Joe, which opens in the West End in early June.

Joining Bloom in the production is Steffan Rhodri, Neve McIntosh, Adam Gillen and Sophie Cookson, with direction by Simon Evans.

Bloom stars as Joe Cooper in Tracy Letts' piece, which follows a policeman (who is also a hitman) arriving in a trailer park for a job before encountering an innocent young girl called Dottie. The play was adapted into a film in 2011 starring Matthew McConaughey.

Letts' other plays include Bug (which Evans directed at Found111 in 2016), Superior Donuts, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County.

Designs for the revival are by Grace Smart, with lighting by Richard Howell, compositions and sound design by Edward Lewis.
