That’s right – it’s sailing over the Atlantic!

Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody, the Off-Broadway show inspired by the hockey drama series, will receive its UK premiere this summer.
The show will play at Underbelly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer, where it leads the venue’s musicals and opera programme.
The show is written by Dylan Marcaurele, whose previous credits include Pop Off, Michelangelo!, and follows Shane Hollander, a golden boy of the ice hockey world, as his story shifts “from power centre to power bottom.”
The production draws on the world of the source material (the break-out smash Canadian sports romance television series) while operating as a parody, independent of the original series.
The cast for the run is to be revealed imminently, so keep your eyes peeled for that soon.
Underbelly has not yet announced full scheduling details, but the show is expected to run across the festival’s main dates in August.
There are already a couple of other Heated Rivalry parody musicals set for the Fringe that we’ve previously covered, as well as a separate show playing at the Other Palace in London. So with at least four separate productions, expect a heated Heated Rivalry rivalry.
