The actor tells us the musical numbers he couldn’t live without
Dylan Wood's theatre credits include Electric Eden (Shanghai Arts Festival), King Lear and Snow Queen (Bristol Old Vic).
He is currently starring as Johnny Valentine in Dougal Irvine and Tristan Bernay's musical Teddy, which runs at the Vaults from 3 April to 3 June, with previews from now.
We caught up with Dylan and asked him: "If you were stranded on a desert island which five showtunes could you not live without?"
I was in an amateur production of Barnum when I was 11. This song was my favourite back then and still is now 12 years later. I love it! So much so that I now use it as an audition piece.
Loved this song ever since my grandparents introduced me to the 1961 movie version of West Side Story and since then ‘I’ve never stopped saying Mariaaaaaa’.
A very appropriate song at this point in our lives, more specifically the lives of those in the U.S. #MarchForOurLives #SondheimnotTrump
I'm a massive fan of Sondheim, I love his stuff and this is right up there with his absolute best. It's a fantastic piece, a wonderful journey in just five minutes of song.
This song opens the show with a massive kick in the teeth and gets you jiving from the top! It’s also the first song of Johnny Valentine & The Broken Heart debut album. Gotta love the '50s! Stay cool.
