Matthew Bourne's widely acclaimed production of Swan Lake will return to Sadler's Wells next year before embarking on a new UK tour.

Tickets for the new production – which will be given a 'fresh look for the 21st Century' but will still 'retain all the iconic elements of the original production' – go on sale on Monday 26 February 2018.

Bourne’s Swan Lake is famous for replacing the female ensemble in favour of male dancers as the swans. Since it was first staged at Sadler's Wells in 1995, the piece has won over thirty international awards including three Tonys and an Olivier Award.

Bourne is one of the world's leading choreographers and was knighted for his services to dance last year. His other notable productions include Cinderella, The Car Man, Nutcracker!, Edward Scissorhands and The Red Shoes.

Dates for Sadler’s Wells and the UK tour will be announced in January 2018.
