Mark Rylance and Hayley Atwell attend first night of Against

Mark Rylance, Hayley Atwell and more joined the cast of Against to celebrate the show's opening at the Almeida Theatre on Friday evening.

Ben Whishaw stars as Luke, an aerospace billionaire, who begins to believe he has been given a mission by God. Christopher Shinn's play received its world premiere at the theatre, directed by Ian Rickson.

The show also stars Amanda Hale, Gavin Spokes, Nancy Crane and Adelle Leonce.

In her review of the show, Sarah Crompton said both Hale and Whishaw were 'wonderful', with Whishaw: "all quiet holiness, still intensity, his agitation revealing itself only in his twitching fingers and restless thumbs."

Against runs at the Almeida Theatre until 30 September.
