A familiar face will return to the Waitress diner!
Featuring songs from composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles, and a book by Jessie Nelson, the musical follows Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker in a small town and a loveless marriage. The show has enjoyed runs worldwide, including on Broadway, in the West End, and on previous tours.
WhatsOnStage Award winner Lucie Jones will return to reprise the role of Jenna in the UK and Ireland tour, playing at King’s Theatre, Glasgow, Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield and Lowry, Salford, from October.
Emma Lucia is scheduled to play the role of Jenna for Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre (24 to 29 August) and Hull New Theatre (1 to 5 September).
Current star Carrie Hope Fletcher’s final performance will be Saturday 29 September 2026. Sandra Marvin’s final performance will be Saturday 22 August 2026. Casting for the role of Becky for the rest of the tour is to be announced.
WhatsOnStage Award winner Fletcher currently plays the lead role of Jenna for a limited run as the musical travels across the UK and Ireland. Our critic called it “perfect casting in a delicious musical serving,” in their WhatsOnStage review.
She is joined by Evelyn Hoskins, reprising her role as Dawn, with Marvin also returning as Becky and Les Dennis as Joe, alongside Dan Partridge as Dr Pomatter, Mark Anderson as Ogie, Mark Wilshire as Earl, and Dan O’Brien as Cal.
The company is completed by Will Arundell, Yochabel Asante, Alice Croft, Jamie Doncaster, Daniel George-Wright, Will Hardy, Bayley Hart, Olivia Lallo, Lucia, David Mairs-McKenzie and Ellie Ruiz Rodriguez.
