The musical has music by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein
The West End production of Kinky Boots will close on 12 January 2019 after more than 1400 performances at the Adelphi Theatre.
With music by Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein, Kinky Boots is based on the hit 2005 film with a screenplay by Tim Firth. It tells the story of Charlie Price, who inherits a suffering shoe factory. Following a meeting with drag queen Lola, Price starts embracing a more flamboyant business model. It won three Olivier Awards in 2016 for Best New Musical, Best Costume Design and Best Actor in a Musical for Matt Henry.
The current cast features Oliver Tompsett as Charlie Price, Natalie McQueen as Lauren and Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Lola.
The production recently announced a UK tour, which will begin at Royal and Derngate in Northampton in September.
