David Hunter's West End theatre credits include Once at the Phoenix Theatre, One Man, Two Guvnors at the Adelphi Theatre and Tommy at the Prince Edward.

He is currently starring as Charlie in Kinky Boots in the West End, having taken over from Killian Donnelly last year.

We caught up with David and asked him: "If you were stranded on a desert island which five showtunes could you not live without?"

5. "Everybody Say Yeah" from Kinky Boots

Well, I had to include a Kinky Boots track didn't I! There are some huge songs in our wonderful musical, but this one is undoubtably the highlight of my evenings. So much energy, so much fun, so much running! If it looks like we're having the time of our lives, it's because we are.

4. "It's a Fish" from The Apple Tree

This is a silly little song really but since becoming a dad I've grown to love it all the more. Adam (of Adam and Eve) is a terrified first-time father and he totally gets me.

3. "If I Didn't Believe in You" from The Last Five Years

I first heard this track whilst studying at LIPA. I really didn't know much about musical theatre back then and I hadn't heard anything like this. It opened my eyes to what musical theatre could be. Real, honest dialogue and in this case, utterly heartbreaking.

2. "Awaiting You" from Myths and Hymns

Billy Porter's vocals on this track will knock you over! Sensational. I sang it for my very first Superstar audition, but not as well as Billy.

1. "Leave" from Once

Glen Hansard in a genius and Once is perfection. I could have picked any of the show's beautiful songs, but "Leave" gets the nod from me. It was a privilege to rip this one out every night during my time with the show.
