Initial casting announced for Miss Saigon UK tour

The production has just opened on Broadway and will start its run in Leicester this summer

Initial casting has been announced for the UK tour of Miss Saigon which opens in Leicester in July.

The Engineer will be played by Red Concepcion, who has extensive theatre credits in his native Philippines including musicals West Side Story and Hairspray.

Sooha Kim, who made her professional debut in the London production of the musical, will play Kim, Ashley Gilmour, who also appeared in the show at the Prince Edward, will play Chris.

Zoë Doano, whose credits include playing Cosette in Les Miserables, will play Ellen and Gerald Santos, who won the Philippines singing contest Pinoy Pop Superstar, will play Thuy.

They will be joined by David Allwood, Randy Chien, Vinny Coyle, Kristine Mae Diaz, Michael James Eborall, Aynrand Ferrer, Seng Henk Goh, Emily Beth Harrington, Jack Heasman, Tom Hier, Barnaby Hughes, Kamm Kunaree, David Kar-Hing Lee, Amanda Lingdren, Ela Lisondra, Winchester Lopez, Christian Rey Marbella, Jay Marsh, Tom Mussell, Thao Nguyen, Saori Oda, YoungJoo Park, Kiel Payton, Katherine Picar, Alistair So, Carl Jae-Suk Sohlberg, Eloisa Amalia Tan, Gavin Tsang, Amadeus Williams, and Gerald Zarcilla.

Further casting will be announced in due course.

The production has just opened on Broadway starring Jon Jon Briones and Eva Noblezada. Last year, producer Cameron Mackintosh said he was "thrilled" that audiences around the UK will get the chance to see "this tremendous new production".
