In pictures: Tom Hiddleston celebrates with Gemma Arterton and cast of Saint Joan

Tom Hiddleston celebrated with the cast of Saint Joan at the show's opening in London last night.

The actor came to support Gemma Arterton – who plays Joan – and the rest of the creative team at the Donmar Warehouse.

Arterton stars in the titular role in George Bernard Shaw's play, which has been directed by Josie Rourke. The show tells the story of the legendary French saint Joan of Arc, who led an army in the 100 years war during the 15th century and was burnt at the stake.

The rest of the cast includes Syrus Lowe, Jo Stone-Fewings, Matt Bardock, Hadley Fraser and Fisayo Akinade.
